Do You Have Passion in Your Life? Great Causes and Those With An Influential Affect

Tue 10th February 2015

When you have a passion in life, especially an enthusiasm fuelled by vision and purpose, you wake up feeling joy; enlightened. When your involvement in a particular project is fulfilling, fun, and meaningful, you are truly in the flow of ‘peak experience’ living.

I’m Louise Ashford-Hodges, founder of Fish Hook Careers. Firstly, thank you for taking some time out of your busy day to have a read; it’s so uplifting to be able to blog to those that have a real interest into what we do here at Fish Hook, and to give you an insight into who we are and what we’re really about.

We are a very passionate team, with our business ethos based on providing you our client, with the utmost and thorough dedication. What we do for you has to be considered with paramount care, as any failure of delivering your expectations just isn’t an option for us. We believe in achieving the highest standards, not just for our business’ sake, but yours.

So business if my passion, it’s undeniable, but of course there is another love that I would like to share with you; marine life and the sea. I have always loved the sea and have spent lots of time in it, on it and under it whilst growing up. The wonder of the vast ocean and the countless creatures that live beneath it have always captivated me.  I have always been passionate about making a genuine difference to the marine environment and the protection of the oceans.

Superstar Leonardo DiCaprio has pledged to donate USD 7 million from his foundation to marine conservation projects for the next two years.

DiCaprio, 39, made the big announcement at the State Department “Our Ocean” conference on June 16, reported Ace Showbiz.

“Since my very first dive in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia 20 years ago to the dive I got to do in the very same location just two years ago, I’ve witnessed environmental devastation firsthand,” he said. The “Wolf of Wall Street” star added, “What once had looked like an endless underwater utopia is now riddled with bleached coral reefs and massive dead zones.”

The “Shutter Island” actor who dreamt of becoming a marine biologist further added, “What we need is sustained activism and courageous political leadership. We cannot afford to be bystanders in this pre-apocalyptic scenario. This isn’t simply an exercise in wildlife conservation. If we don’t do something to save the ocean now, it won’t be just the sharks and the dolphins that suffer. It will be our children and our grandchildren.”

Since as far back as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by the natural world. That childish fascination has not left me but deepened over the years. This love and interest  in the ocean has helped to shape my adult life.

Strive to make a difference, be it in your work, or personal outlook.
